I was born in Minneapolis, raised through my formative years in Brazil, and my studies eventually brought me to Germany. Today I live in New York, working at the systems layer of the stack.
I've always been curious — since my first programming class I wanted to know how programs and the machines that run them actually work. That pulled me across many layers of computing abstraction: digital electronics and FPGAs, operating systems and Linux, computer networking, machine learning, and the software-engineering tooling that ties them together.

Beyond computer science my interests run from language and linguistics to comedy, rap, and martial arts. I've been a huge fan of stand-up comedy since I first saw it as a kid.
